Hair Salon for the Kansas City Metro: Areas We Serve

Clients come to Hoshika's one-chair Overland Park studio from all over the Kansas City metro. Find your area, the distance and what to book.

Beauty, Boldly Done is a one-chair hair and nail studio in south Overland Park, run by licensed cosmetologist Hoshika Jiandani. It sits on West 135th Street, close to US-69 and a short hop from I-435, so clients come from all across the Kansas City metro on both sides of State Line.

Areas with their own page are linked. Everywhere else is listed with its distance, so you can see how far the drive is. Distances are straight-line miles from the studio; by road it's a little more.

Tap water across the metro

Hard water leaves minerals on hair that can dull color, push blonde brassy and make extensions feel coated. Here's who supplies water across the metro and what their own reports say. If no number is listed, check your utility's annual water quality report.

Area Water supplier Hardness (from the utility's report)
Most of Johnson County (Overland Park, Leawood, Lenexa, Shawnee, Prairie Village, Merriam, Mission, Roeland Park) WaterOne About 8 grains per gallon (137 ppm average, 2024 report): hard
Olathe, Gardner, De Soto, Spring Hill Mostly their own city utilities (parts on WaterOne) See each city's report
Kansas City, KS and Edwardsville Board of Public Utilities (BPU) 16.4 grains per gallon (280 ppm, 2025 data): very hard
Bonner Springs City of Bonner Springs (parts on BPU) City says its new plant delivers much softer water
Kansas City, MO, plus Raytown, Belton, Raymore and Peculiar (which buy from it) KC Water, softened at the plant About 5โ€“6 grains per gallon (about 100 mg/L): moderate
Independence City of Independence, softened well water About 8 grains per gallon (138.6 mg/L, 2024 report)

Louisburg, Paola Marais des Cygnes Public Utility Authority See each city's report

The Water Quality Association calls 7โ€“10.5 grains per gallon "hard". The fix is the same everywhere: a chelating shampoo every week or two and a gloss between color visits. Here's the full routine.

Getting to the studio

Most of the metro reaches it by highway: I-435 to US-69 south, exit at 135th Street and head west. From the south and Cass County, US-71 / I-49 and I-470 feed into I-435. From western Johnson County, K-10 and K-7 connect to 135th Street. Your maps app will have the best route for traffic.

What people drive in for
